Bodywork Appointments
Bodywork is the foundation for Katherine Penner Equine Services. Our goal is to ascertain where the issue is coming from, and most importantly what has caused it. While many bodyworkers address symptoms, we feel that working on the underlying problem, provides a longer lasting and more complete solution for the horse.
An appointment includes taking a summary of the horse’s history, as well as a description of the current obstacle. We then begin with the dynamic assessment of the horse in motion, on a longe line. This lets us identify any mechanical inconsistencies he may have. We then proceed with the static assessment, and describe the relation between the two to the owner.
We will then assess the conformational needs of your horse, and describe what saddle aspects will be required to accommodate those needs. Before coming to our Step by Step Tutorial. This tutorial is exclusive to Equine Balance Saddles, and has been designed to teach the basic components of saddle fit to anyone, in a way that can be easily understood and followed.
From here, we use our combined modality approach to start addressing the present issue, in a way your horse can accept. It is extremely important to us, never to work outside his comfort zone, or in a way that will cause a negative response in his body. An average appointment is usually around an hour to an hour and half, this is based on the horse and his needs.
