Saddle Care
Care Recommendations
Your saddle is an investment, unlike many other brands, we want your saddle to give you many years of use. In order to keep it as long as possible, here are some tips for the care of your saddle.
Avoid the Soap
Unless your saddle gets extremely dirty, try to avoid using saddle soap. Many soaps can pull dye out of your saddle, causing the saddle to fade prematurely. Use warm water instead to remove every day dust or dirt, and clean your saddle regularly.
Condition for Moisture
Most manufacturers recommend using a conditioner versus a more traditional oil, unless leather has become extremely dry. Apply regularly, and more frequently in the summer when conditions are dryer.
Mind Your Rack
Some saddle racks can cause imprints or impressions in your flocking, particularly metal ones. To avoid this, cover your rack in a couple layers of towel, or keep two saddle pads under your saddle.
Be Aware of Your Warranty
Many manufacturers offer a manufacturer’s warranty, but for your saddle to qualify you must register on their website after purchase. Here are some links to the warranty registrations for some of our manufacturers:
